How the ABC's of Happy came about and what it really is.

Hi, my name is Kate. I’m a yoga therapist and the creator of the ABC’s of Happy mindfulness practice. Don’t let the name confuse you, it’s not a quick fix guide to happiness. The ABC’s of Happy is about intention and practice. It is a tool to help you become more mindful in everyday life. It will create opportunities for you to shine the light of awareness into places that might be stealing the happiness you already have. Through personally practicing mindfulness, self-reflection, and yoga for the last 12 years, I’ve learned that happiness is not found outside of yourself.  Let me give you a little more background on how the ABC’s of Happy came about. Why Mindfulness?

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I'm a yoga therapist. I have been teaching mindfulness for several years to my students and also practicing it personally. I found tremendous benefits from learning what it even meant to be in the present moment. I've also learned to notice how often I wasn't in the present moment. I felt like mindfulness was a light, shining into my life and allowing me to make conscious choices to change instead of being clueless. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that if you don't practice mindfulness then you are clueless. Self-care

I'm afraid I want to go on a rant, but I'll refrain. Instead of preaching about why we're NOT doing something, I'm going to focus on the good that comes from doing this something. This something is SELF-CARE. I'll try and keep it personal :) I LOVE helping people. I want so badly for people who are hurting physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to feel better. I believe that mind-body practices, meditation, silence, yoga, and rest, can REALLY help. I know these are not the only things that help, but are a few that I have found to work well. They don't just work well for me either. They have been working for thousands of people for thousands of years...

Meet Jackie!

Hey all! I want to introduce you to one of my students, Jackie :)  She recently shared with me a beautiful example of how mindfulness has made a difference in her life and so I asked if she would share it with you! Keep practicing and be encouraged!                                                                                           *kate* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   Betrayal. Righteous indignation. You find yourself muttering, “Google Maps lied!” and vow to start using Waze instead. The all too familiar dread seizes you...

Happy Jars!

Yes, I'm going to do a blog post on one of our products but not necessarily to push a sale. I want to share with you my own personal experience with using the Happy Jar. I am NOT a person who has much of a routine in any aspect of my life. I am self-employed and my schedule is different pretty much every day and sometimes even week to week. I cannot eat the same thing twice in a week and let's just be honest I don't like routine. BUT, I've come to realize it's the very thing I need more of in my life. Sigh.  My mind doesn't care much for routine either. Let me explain. My thoughts like...
